18 Months and Making Milestones

In just two weeks, Adeline will be a year and a half old. We are continually amused and amazed by her antics.

We went to brunch on Mother's Day, and I LOVED the band that was playing. Brody was making me laugh, too!

We had such a great time, eating, singing and laughing, Mom had the best time.

A few weeks later, we traveled to New Orleans to see friends and go to a few days of amazing music- JazzFest! I got to ride in Daddy's backpack and had my own little chair like all the big people. Mommy made me wear the hearing protection, because the music was SO LOUD, but I clapped and danced the whole time. It was sunny and hot, but we didn't care.

We went up on the levees one evening with friends and slid down the hill on boxes. That was a good time!

The rest of the spring and the summer were spent having fun and doing normal stuff. Brody played big boy baseball and even got to pitch and catch. His team was called the Yankees, but Mommy and I know that the Pirates are the best team in baseball.

Brody and I did a little reading and a lot of messing around... and I do mean MESS!

Being silly is one of my favorite things to do. I try on every single hat, and will find your shoes and bring them to you, even though you're not going anywhere.

Dad plays music in the game room, and I wanted to learn a little.

We got a neat gift from some friends who came to stay with us for a while. They had TWO dogs and a little girl that was a really nice friend for me. Check out our new wheels!

Mommy found these funny pants, and I love them. She made some shirts to match, and the teachers in my classroom think I'm such a fashionista. When I wear lots of colors, it makes me laugh and show off a little.

We had some friends and family come over for the 4th of July. I liked the fireworks, but it was cloudy, so we couldn't see that much. Staying up so late was tough on me and my brother, so we slept in the next day.

This is my favorite photo from the summer. I loved these flowers, and everyone noticed that my dress matched.

Then, one day at the beginning of August, something amazing happened. We all got into the car after school, and we drove for a little while, then a lot of people came over to us. There was a lot of laughing and hugging, and then this wonderful person got in the car and came home with us. I'm learning that his name is Elias, and the rest of his family live in Norway. But this year, we are his family, and he'll stay with us until his junior year in high school is over. He's a wonderful big brother, and I think he's very cute and very funny. He speaks to me in Norweigan, so it's our special language. I love him.

Mom and Dad took us all to the beach for Labor Day. The boys played in the waves, but I liked to eat the sand and pretend to surf.

Last weekend, after the boys had their first week of school, we went to an amusement park to say goodbye to summer. The boys had fun on roller coasters and I even got to try some of the rides. The big ferris wheel was not fun, but the teacups (non-spinning) and the train was great.

Some final bits of information about how I'm doing:

I'm almost done getting teeth- just four more till I get all 20 baby teeth, but those won't come for a while. I am FINALLY getting more hair, and it seems most fun putting my dinner in it. I decided to try spaghetti and pizza, and think it's the best (but I love black beans the best- go figure?) Ice cream is nice, as well.
